Maths

I enjoy maths and like to make it accessible for everyone. When I was working at Brunel University I produced some simple java applets to explain the mathematics behind the mechanics of the Counter-Current Chromatography machines. Unfortunately these applets don’t work any more on a website. If anyone is interested please let me know and I will try to email you the applets and code.

The following two animations show the J-type counter-current chromatograph and the non-synchronous counter-current chromatograph. Follow the colours on the coils to see how often they rotate around their own axis before going round the main axis.
